Teacher training days are days when we, as a staff, seize the opportunity to sit down together and look at ways of improving the education we offer to our pupils.
Although we actively discourage our parents from taking their children on holiday during term time, should you find it necessary to do so, please write to the Headteacher giving dates and reasons for the request. It is only possible for the Headteacher to authorise a total of 10 school days absence for holiday purposes during any academic year when he considers that time off school would not be detrimental to the individual child’s education and that the circumstances surrounding the request are exceptional.
The Headteacher will not authorise any holiday absences during the time when children are undertaking their end of Key Stage National Curriculum tests. These usually occur during May.
