Personal, Social and Health Education
The Governors of our school have decided that Sex Education should form an integral part of our approach towards the Personal, Social and Health Education of our pupils in Year 6. In keeping with our general belief that parents should be as fully involved in their child’s education as possible, we keep them informed about the programme at all times.
You may withdraw your child from any aspects of these lessons where coverage goes beyond that required by the statutory element of the National Curriculum. As previously, a letter of authorisation is required.
We strongly recommend that you do not exercise this right with your child.
In similar vein is our approach towards drug education. This forms an important part of our Science curriculum. Bearing the age of the children very much in mind we maintain the simple approach that whatever we put into our bodies will have an effect.
